About Seventh-day Adventists and our Mission Statement

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a global Protestant Christian community with members and as of 2025 in more than 212 countries. Worldwide, the church includes approximately 23.6 million members, with over 1,306,533 in North America. Adventists are committed to improving quality of life for people everywhere while sharing the hope of Jesus Christ’s soon return.

Adventists believe in one God revealed as a Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Central to their faith is Jesus Christ, who came to earth as a child in Bethlehem, lived a sinless life in harmony with the Father’s will, and gave His life for the sins of the world. Through His resurrection, victory over sin and death was secured for all.

After returning to heaven, Jesus promised the Holy Spirit, who serves as Comforter and Counselor to believers. Adventists look forward to Christ’s promised return, when He will complete His work of salvation and gather His people.

Adventists believe that God cares about every aspect of human life. Faith is lived out in daily choices—how people relate to one another, care for their bodies, steward their resources, and look after the world around them. Family life, work, talents, finances, and time are all viewed as meaningful parts of a life shaped by God’s purposes.

“The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who live as His loving witnesses and proclaim to all people the everlasting gospel of the Three Angels’ Messages in preparation for His soon return.”
